In the summer of 1952, we moved to our new house at 10957, 141 Street
in West Edmonton. I think Dad bought it with a $6,000 mortgage.
The front street was not paved when we moved in and it frequently
became a quagmire whenever it rained but it did come equipped with all
the modern conveniences like running water, tub with shower, gas stove,
gas furnace and cement basement which Dad finished off the next year.
This is me in the backyard in 1952 with my cousin Lee, son of my Uncle
Ralph (Dad's younger brother) and Aunt Enid.

This is Dad hosing Bob and I down some years later.
This is me standing and Bob kneeling while we diligently paint
the backyard fence sometime about 1955 I think.
This is Bob on the trombone, me on the accordian with our cousins Wendy
on the trumpet and Shelley on the miniature guitar. This is also
about 1956.
This is my infant sister, Wendy, born on May 6th, 1957.
This is Wendy getting a bath with her dog, Mitzi's help.
This me holding my 3 year old sister's hand at the gravesite
of my grandfather who died in 1960 at the age of 72 years.
After I went off to UBC in 1962
to study forestry and Bob joined the RCAF band, two things
happened. The parents and Wendy moved to this house on the south
side of Edmonton and Wendy got a dog she named Mitzi. This
picture was taken about 1964.
And here she is with her favourite doggie, Mitzi.
This picture was taken in the late fall of 1965 when I took a year out
from UBC Forestry to work. I bought this 1957 Buick in Winnipeg
while I was working at Riding Mountain National Park in a Federal
student program during the summer. Wendy is sitting on the back
fender.
Shortly after this, my dad sold the Atlas Book Bindery and they moved
to a semi-retirement lifestyle near Cobble Hill, BC.
