"HERE LY'S Y BODY OF jOHN HOLMES WHO
DIED SEP.Y 7th 1728 IN Y 66th YEAR OF HIS AGE." I took this
picture in a little town called Middleboro in Massachusetts. Kind
of blows one away that this gravestone is 276 years old.
This is the raised bridge that lets
fishing boats out of Gloucester Harbour, site of the Perfect Storm
movie. Gloucester is near Cape Ann and Pigeon Cove in
Massachusetts, northeast of Boston.

This is what the start of the run looks
like from the top of Mad River Glen. It is a 2,000 foot vertical
drop in elevation down to the lodge at the bottom of the hill.
Not bad for a ski hill in the east, eh?
When we got to Quebec City, we were
surprised to look out the window of the bar in the Chateau Fronteac
Hotel to see the Queen Mary 2 tied up at the dock on the nearby St.
Lawrence River.
